Support Oxfam And A Friend
Day 87
Sponsored a friend running the London Marathon for Oxfam via her page.
There are some examples of what the money raised will go towards on Oxfam's website. It constantly amazes me how far a donation goes. For example, £10 will provide clean water for 10 people. Amazing! Well done Sarah for taking on the challenge and best of luck! You are doing an amazing thing!
Oxfam is an incredible charity working tirelessly to help lift people out of poverty all around the globe. They works to ensure people have enough to eat; have access to clean water, health services and education and they also help people get treated fairly. Oxfam also provide support in emergency situations around the world and campaign on environmental issues.
I am particularly interested in Oxfam's work in the UK in lifting people out of poverty here. The UK is the 7th richest county in the world and we still have 1 in 5 people living in poverty. Oxfam are working with groups such as the Trussell Trust, Church Action On Poverty and also Jack Monroe to tackle the causes of food poverty in the UK. I am totally with them on this I hope we see change.
