Welcome to My Kindness Movement
Welcome! This blog is about following my journey to become kinder. The mission is to perform random acts of kindness whenever and wherever I can. I hope you will contribute with comments and suggestions, as well as your own kindness experiences.

Be Grateful For Assistance
Day 100
I set off early yesterday to go to my volunteer shift as I needed petrol. I have only just started to ride my scooter regularly so I didn't expect to be stood at a petrol station unable to get the petrol cap off with no one around. I waited and a lovely smiley lady offered to help me and she managed to get it off. As I paid for the petrol I got her a little gift to say thank you as without her I might have been late and let people down. Her act of kindness came back to her quite quickly and I got to volunteering on time. Great stuff!
100 Days In
Kinder By Day has been a fantastic journey so far! I am absolutely loving performing random acts of kindness and I am amazed that I am 100 days in.
This project has made me see things differently and made me feel so much happier and at the same time has encouraged me to want to continue kindness beyond this year. Annie Lennox's words are a great summary of this,
"Ask yourself: Have you been kind today? Make kindness your daily modus operandi and change your world."
I feel that I am changing my world. It is really incredible too that other people feel compelled to perform their own acts of kindness and I love hearing about them. This is exactly what I was hoping to achieve and I hoped that if more people performed acts of kindness the place we live in would be a kinder and more connected place.
I have realised that there are many opportunities to be kind in daily life and most of them are free or inexpensive. For me this highlights that everyone has the capacity to be kind, even with few resources. I have really loved surprising people and I love the unexpected look on their faces. Being kind, however, has not been without its challenges. When I have been really busy or having a bad day it has taken more effort to be kind. But my conclusion is that kindness is always possible! As the quote says, "Always be kinder than you feel."
