Welcome to My Kindness Movement

Welcome! This blog is about following my journey to become kinder. The mission is to perform random acts of kindness whenever and wherever I can. I hope you will contribute with comments and suggestions, as well as your own kindness experiences.

A Day Of Kind

Day 128

I discovered yet another amazing blog by a lady called Bernadette Russell that is very inspiring. She completed a year of performing a daily act of kindness for strangers and wrote about it (see it here). I sent her an email to say that I was inspired by her blog and I shared what I was doing too. I asked to join their Facebook page as people are posting their inspirational stories on there.

I also sent an email through Amnesty International urging action for the abducted girls in Nigeria. On April the 14th over 200 girls were abducted by Boko Haram from a Nigerian school and although some escaped the rest are still being held captive and their whereabouts is unknown. I have just received an email from Amnesty International telling me that Nigerian security forces failed to act on advanced warnings about Boko Haram's raid and did not do enough to stop it. Amnesty have asked us to call upon the Nigerian leadership (see here) to now use all lawful means at their disposal to secure the girls’ safe release and ensure nothing like this can happen again.

I am visiting my family today for my Dad's 70th birthday! He is a legend and it is nice that we get to celebrate it with him. My mum is sending some treats for my nephew so I am sending him this too. Isn't this ace (from a cute shop called Found). Louis is mad about space :)
