Small Actions Collectively Make a Huge Difference

Day 9

Amnesty describes itself,

'We are ordinary people from across the world standing up for humanity and human rights.'

Today it could not be easier to do this; I have just been on their website http://www.amnesty.org.uk and with a few clicks of my mouse I have registered my concern for the rights of the people of Russia, LGBTI people in Uganda and women in Afghanistan. Amnesty has done exceptionally well to develop their website to make it accessible and easy to act. Reading the narrative does incite action when you read that MP's in Uganda have passed a Bill which will further criminalise being LGBTI in their country; Putin is taking steps to further restrict his people and potentially try to criminalise human rights activism and finally that incredibly brave and inspiring women who stand up for women's rights in Afghanistan are now facing backlash from militia groups for their deemed defiance. All difficult issues, but with collective action we can call for change.

Scott Adams said,

"Remember there's no such thing as a small act of kindness. Every act creates a ripple with no logical end."
