Connect With Your Neighbours

streetbank
Day 32

Today I spent a lot of time thinking about how I don't really know many people in my neighbourhood and this is something I have wanted to rectify for a while. One of my earlier posts on Day 7 talked about a community that I have been registered with since I came to Bath called justfortheloveofit.org. This community has now merged with StreetBank and it is really impressive. It is easier than ever to connect with the people living near you. People registered on the site (easy to do and totally free) can offer out items to others for free, lend their stuff and offer out their skills. Other members can then request the items and go around and pick them up or meet to receive a skill. I am hoping that some of those motorbike riders on my street are on StreetBank, it would be great to get some advice on good kit. I have offered out a couple of items 'for free' today and also a couple of items 'for lending'. I will also offer out my time again. I think perhaps I was a bit on a unknown quantity last time I offered and perhaps as I meet people through lending/giving I may see opportunities to help. What an amazing way to connect with people, absolutely love it!
